Ingredients for Kadi pakoda Recipe

  • 1/4 cups Yogurt
  • 1/4 cup Gram flour
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric
  • 1/4 tsp Chilli powder
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Garam masala
  • 1.50 cups water
  • 0.06 cup Oil
  • 0.13 tsp Asafoetida
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tbsp Clarified butter
  • 1/4 tsp Chilli powder
  • 1/4 cup Gram flour
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 0.13 cup Oil

Directions: Kadi Pakoda Recipe

  • STEP 1.Mix the chickpea flour, turmeric, chilli powder, salt and garam masala.
  • STEP 2.Add yogurt gradually to this mixture to form a smooth paste, and then add the water.
  • STEP 3.Heat the oil in a large, heavy-based pan; add the asafoetida, cumin seeds and the whole red chillies.
  • STEP 4.When the cumin seeds begin to splutter, add the flour and yogurt mixture and bring to a boil.
  • STEP 5.Simmer over a low heat till it thickens a bit.
  • STEP 6.Mix all the ingredient into a smooth batter with enough water to form a thick dropping consistency. Let the batter rest for at least 15 minutes.
  • STEP 7.In a frying pan, heat 1/2 cup of oil.
  • STEP 8.Beat the pakori mixture till light and fluffy and add teaspoons full of the mixture.
  • STEP 9.Reduce heat to medium and fry the pakoris.
  • STEP 10.When the pakoris fluff up, and the base becomes golden-brown, turn them over and brown on the other side.
  • STEP 11.Scoop out the pakoris from the oil and drop them into a kadahi. Repeat this procedure with the rest of the mixture.
  • STEP 12.Transfer the hot kadahi into a serving dish.
