Ingredients for Kache Aam Aur Lehsun Ki Dal Recipe

  • 1/4 cup Toor dal washed and soaked
  • 1/4 No.s Tomato chopped
  • 1/4 No.s Raw mango cut into inch pieces with skin 1
  • 0.13 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1/4 No.s Green chilli chopped
  • As required Salt
  • 0.63 cup Water for pressure cooking
  • 1/4 tablespoon Ghee
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 No.s Dry red chillies
  • 1.50 Garlic thinly sliced cloves
  • 0.06 teaspoon Asafoetida powder
  • 0.06 teaspoon Red chili powder

Directions: Kache Aam Aur Lehsun Ki Dal Recipe

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a pressure cooker add 1 cup washed and soaked toor dal, 1 tomato chopped, 1 raw mango cut into 1 inch pieces with skin, ½ tsp turmeric (haldi) powder, 1 green chilli chopped, salt to taste and 2 ½ cups water. Pressure cook for 3 to4 minutes and then allow to simmer for 5 minutes and turn off the heat. Allow the pressure to release naturally.
  • STEP 2. Open the pressure cooker and adjust the consistency by adding ½ cup of water or more if the dal is too thick. Allow it to simmer. Add a small bunch of chopped coriander leaves and turn off the heat.
  • STEP 3.For the tadka, preheat a pan and add 1 tbsp ghee. Allow it to melt and then add 1 tsp cumin seeds, 2 dry red chillies and 6 cloves thinly sliced garlic. Saute on medium heat for afew seconds until the aromas of the garlic come through.
  • STEP 4.Once the garlic has become light golden in colour add ¼ tsp asafoetida(hing) powder and ¼ tsp red chili powder. Stir it together and turn off the heat.
  • STEP 5.Serve the kache aam ki dal in a bowl and pour the lehsun tadka over it.

Special Comments

  • STEP 1.The skin of the mango can be removed if desired. The mango can also be used grated.
