Ingredients for Jodhpuri Mirchi Vada Recipe

  • 7-8 No.s Bhavnagri Chilies / Banana Peppers
  • As required Oil for deep frying
  • 2 teaspoon Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin Seeds /Jeera
  • 1/2 teaspoon Mustard Seeds /Rai
  • 1 pinch Asafoetida
  • 4 No.s Boiled and Mashed Potatoes
  • 1 No.s onion finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon grated Ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Fennel / Saunf powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder / Haldi
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Dry Mango powder / Amchur
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin powder
  • 2 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 0.37 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • As required Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black salt/Kala Namak
  • 2 tablespoon Coriander Leaves
  • 1 teaspoon Kasuri Methi/dry Fenugreek leaves
  • As required For Batter
  • 1 cup Gram Flour/Besan
  • As required Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Carom Seeds / Ajwain
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 0.12 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 0.12 teaspoon Hing / Asafoetida

  • STEP 1.For filling: 1. To make the filling boil and mash the potatoes in a boil.

  • STEP 1.2. Take some oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, rai, hing and chopped onions to it. Cook it till the onions become soft and brown.

  • STEP 2.3. Now add grated ginger, garlic, coriander powder, turmeric, red chilli powder, fennel seeds powder, and cumin powder. Roast these spices for 30 seconds.

  • STEP 3.4. Now add mashed potatoes, black salt, garam masala, dry mango powder, crushed kasoori methi and fresh coriander leaves. Mix all the ingredients well and let it cook for a minute.

  • STEP 1.For batter: 1. In a bowl take gram flour, salt, coriau powder, turmeric, red chilli powder, ajwain, garam masala and hing. Mix all the dry ingredients well.

  • STEP 4.2. Add water to this mixy in batches and mix it well using a whisk in order to avoid the formation of lumps.

  • STEP 1.Take banana peppers and slit them from one side. Remove all the seeds.

  • STEP 1. Stuff the pepper with potato masala using a little spoon. Now add the prepared batter and mix baking powder.

  • STEP 1.Coat the peppers with batter and deep fry them in hot oil. You mirchi vada is ready.
