  • STEP 2.Add water gradually and knead the mixture into a smooth dough.
  • STEP 3.Heat oil in a deep pan for frying.
  • STEP 4.Take a portion of the dough and shape it into a cylindrical log.
  • STEP 5.Using a murukku press or a piping bag with a star-shaped nozzle, press the dough in a spiral shape directly into the hot oil.
  • STEP 6.Fry the jantikalu until they turn golden brown and crispy.
  • STEP 7.Remove them from the oil and drain on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
  • STEP 8.Allow them to cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
  • STEP 9.Serve the jantikalu as a snack with tea or as a side dish with rice and dal.
