  • 0.06 cup Vegetable Oil
  • 1/4 Large Onion, Thinly Sliced

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak the basmati rice for 30 minutes.
  • STEP 2.In a large pot, bring water to a boil and add salt.
  • STEP 3.Add the soaked rice and cook until it is 70% cooked.
  • STEP 4.Drain the rice and set aside.
  • STEP 5.In a separate pot, heat oil and sauté onions until golden brown.
  • STEP 6.Add the herbs and vegetables and cook for a few minutes.
  • STEP 7.Layer the partially cooked rice on top of the herbs and vegetables.
  • STEP 8.Cover the pot with a lid and cook on low heat for 30 minutes.
