  • 250 gram Hilsa Fish
  • 1/2 Large Eggplant, Sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • 2 tablespoon Mustard Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Nigella Seeds
  • 1 Green Chilies, Slit
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ginger Paste
  • 1/2 cup Water

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Marinate the fish with turmeric, salt, and lemon juice for 15 minutes.
  • STEP 2.Heat oil in a pan and fry the fish until golden brown. Set aside.
  • STEP 3.In the same pan, add more oil and fry the eggplant slices until they turn soft and golden.
  • STEP 4.In a separate pan, heat mustard oil and add nigella seeds, green chilies, and ginger paste.
  • STEP 5.Add the fried fish and eggplant to the pan and cook for a few minutes.
  • STEP 6.Add water, salt, turmeric, and cover the pan. Cook until the fish is tender.
  • STEP 7.Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with steamed rice.

  • Make sure to marinate the fish for at least 15 minutes to enhance the flavor.
  • Frying the fish and eggplant separately helps to retain their individual textures.
