Ingredients for Hydrabadi Chicken Biryani Recipe

  • 1/4 kg Chicken pieces (clean and wash well)
  • 1/4 tsp Red chili powder
  • 0.13 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 0.13 tsp Salt
  • 0.13 cup Yogurt
  • 0.13 cup Fried Onions
  • 0.13 tsp Garam masala powder
  • 1 cups Long grain basmati rice
  • 1/4 Pieces Cinnamon stick
  • 3/4 Pieces Cloves
  • 1/2 Pieces Cardamoms
  • As Required Salt as per taste
  • 1.75 cup water
  • 1/4 Pieces Bay leaf
  • 1/4 Pieces Lemon
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1/2 tbsp Crushed fried onions
  • 1/4 tbsp Biryani masala
  • 1/4 Pieces Bay leaf
  • 1/2 Pieces Cardamom
  • 1/4 Pieces Cinnamon
  • 1/4 tbsp Chopped coriander
  • 3/4 A Few saffron strands
  • 1/4 A Pinch orange food colour
  • 1/4 tbsp Fried raisins
  • 1/4 tsp Kewda water

Directions: Hydrabadi Chicken Biryani Recipe

  • STEP 1.Add all marination ingredients(turmeric powder,chili powder, ginger garlic paste, yoghurt, salt, garam masala and fried onions) in the chicken and marinate in refrigerator for at least 1 to 2 hours.

  • STEP 2.For chicken, Heat oil in a wok and put whole spices.

  • STEP 3.Add marinated chicken and cook on low heat for 10 minutes.

  • STEP 4.Add biryani masala and 1/2 tsp salt, mix well and cook again for 5 minutes.

  • STEP 5.For rice, heat 1 tsp ghee in a pan and put whole masalas.

  • STEP 6.Add washed rice, salt, lemon pieces and cook rice till 75% done.

  • STEP 7.For biryani, put half of cooked chicken in a pot and add half of coooked rice.

  • STEP 8.Add remaining chicken with gravy and sprinkle half of fried onions, coriander leaves, saffron milk and kewda.

  • STEP 9.Put remaining rice over it, topped with fried onions, coriander leaves, fried raisins, saffron milk and kewda.

  • STEP 10.Cover tightly the pot, put it on iron tawa and give dum for 10 minutes on low flame.

  • STEP 11.Biryani is ready to serve, enjoy it with raita and salad.
