Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a pressure cooker, heat oil and add whole spices like cinnamon, cloves, and cardamom.
  • STEP 2.Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown. Then, add ginger-garlic paste and cook for a minute.
  • STEP 3.Add mutton pieces and cook until they are browned. Then, add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt.
  • STEP 4.Add soaked and drained lentils, chopped pumpkin, and water. Pressure cook for about 4-5 whistles.
  • STEP 5.Once the pressure is released, open the cooker and check the consistency of the dalcha. Adjust the water if needed.
  • STEP 6.For the tempering, heat ghee in a small pan and add cumin seeds, garlic, and curry leaves. Fry until fragrant.
  • STEP 7.Pour the tempering over the dalcha and mix well. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
  • STEP 8.Serve the Hyderabadi kaddu aur gosht ka dalcha hot with steamed rice or roti.
