Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Heat oil in a pan and sauté onions until golden brown.
  • STEP 2.Add tomatoes, ginger, garlic, and green chilies. Cook until the tomatoes are soft and mushy.
  • STEP 3.Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for a few more minutes.
  • STEP 4.Remove from heat and let the mixture cool. Then blend it into a smooth paste.
  • STEP 5.In the same pan, heat some more oil and add mustard seeds and curry leaves. Once they splutter, add the tomato paste and cook for a few minutes.
  • STEP 6.Serve the Hyderabad Tomato Chutney with dosa, idli, or any other South Indian dish.
