Corn and cream mixture wrapped in a corn husk, and slowly steamed or boiled in a pot of water. Humitas are savory sweet fresh corn cakes made from the mixture of freshly ground corn, onions, cheese, eggs, and cream which is placed inside corn cakes. This dish is opular throughout South America especially in Chile, Argentina, Peru and eucador. The dish consists of corn cakes that are cooked with a corn creamy filling.

Ingredients for Humita Recipe

  • 8 No.s corn cobs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoon Butter
  • 1 No.s chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup Milk
  • 1 teaspoon chilli paste
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves
  • As required Salt
  • As required Pepper

Directions: Humita Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Heat some oil and butter in a pan.

step 2

  • STEP 1.Add chopped onions to it and cook till they turn translucent.

step 3

  • STEP 1.Once the onions are cooked add the grated corn to it.

step 4

  • STEP 1.Cook till it turns nice and creamy. As it thickens add milk to it and mix well.

step 6

  • STEP 1.Once turned creamy add chilli paste and basil leaves to it.

step 7

  • STEP 1.Combine everything well and season with some salt and pepper.
