Easy to make tomato puree by pressure cooking tomatoes. A handy jar of Tomato Puree is super helpful when making any tomato based dish. Here is how to blanch the tomatoes and then puree them. It is very easy to make homemade tomato puree. All you need are some fresh tomatoes. In fact you can use any type of tomatoes but make sure they are ripe. This tomato puree is made without any preservatives.

Ingredients for Homemade Tomato Puree Recipe

  • 500 gram Tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoon Water

Directions: Homemade Tomato Puree Recipe

  • STEP 1.Cut 500 gms tomatoes into halves.

step 2

  • STEP 1.Place in the pressure cooker and add 2tbsp water. Pressure cook for 2 whistles and turn off the heat. Allow pressure to release naturally.

step 3

  • STEP 1.Empty the tomatoes onto a wide plate and allow to cool fully.

step 4

  • STEP 1.The skin of the tomatoes will be loose, peel of the skins and place tomatoes in the tall jar of the mixer grinder and blend to a smooth paste.

step 5

  • STEP 1.Empty tomato puree into airtight containers and store in the fridge for upto 1 week.

step 6

  • STEP 1.Ready to use homemade tomato puree is ready.
