  • 1 cup chipped Butter
  • 2 tablespoon Sugar
  • 2 tablespoon Milk
  • 2 tablespoon Honey
  • As required Chilled water

Directions: Home Made Apple Pie With Whole Wheat Crust Recipe

  • STEP 1.Into a mixing bowl place 5 peeled and sliced apples, 1 tbsp brown sugar,1 tbsp white sugar, 1 tsp cinnamon powder, juice of half a lemon, 2 tbsp all purpose flour, ½ tsp salt. Mix well to combine.
  • STEP 2.To make the crust, in a large mixing bowl place 2 ½ cups whole wheat flour, 1 cup butter chipped, 2 tbsp sugar, ½ tsp salt.
  • STEP 3.Blend the butter into the flour till it is a coarse meal like texture. Sprinkle 6 to 8 tbsp chilled water while kneading. Combine to form a stiff dough.
  • STEP 4.Divide the dough into 2 portions.wrap each portion in cling wrap and refrigerate the pie crust for at least 2 hours.
  • STEP 5.Dust a flat surface with flour, roll out each portion into a large circle. Place one circle into the pie pan.
  • STEP 1.Gently press it in so that the pie crust fills out the inner edges and corners. Fill the pie with the apple mixture, spread it out evenly. Fill the pie with the apple mixture, spread it out evenly.
  • STEP 6.For the wash or coating, mix 2 tbsp milk with 1 tbsp honey. Dip a brush into this mixture and brush the lid of the pie and the edges. Sprinkle with a little sugar to give some crunch and colour.
  • STEP 7.Finally cut some small slits on the surface of the lid so that the steam can escape. Now place the pie in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for about 40 to 45 minutes till the crust is evenly golden brown.
