Another unique combination of hilsa with eggplant.Ilish er Begun Jhol is a light fish curry cooked with eggplant. Primary ingredients and fresh Hilsa brings out the actual taste of this dish.

Cut eggplant into pieces and wash them with water
Cut hilsa into pieces, clean it properly and wash them with lukewarm water.
First take kadai and pour cooking oil in it for heating.
Now add chopped onions on it.
Now add green chilli paste , cumin paste , garlic paste.
Now add salt( according to taste) , turmeric powder 1 ½ tbsp and red chilli powder 2 tbsp.
Cook it for 5 min and now add washed fish into it and fry them a little.
Now take out the fried fish pieces and add the cut eggplant pieces into it
Now add 4 cups of water, cover it and cook until the eggplant gets softer a bit.
Now add fish pieces which was kept aside and after adding them to kadai cover it and cook for 5-7 more mins and your fish is ready to serve
