Ingredients for Hilsa Pulao Recipe

  • As required Curry
  • 1 kilogram Hilsa fish
  • 500 gram Milk
  • 2 Onions
  • 2 tablespoon Ginger paste
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon Green chili
  • As required Mustard oil
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • As required Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Green chili paste
  • As required Rice
  • As required Soya oil
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 tablespoon Green chili
  • 1 kilogram bhog rice
  • 1 tablespoon Cumin paste
  • 3-4 bay leaves
  • 6 green Cardamoms

Directions: Hilsa Pulao Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.For preparing the curry brush the shell of the hilsa fish and cut them into small pieces with the help of boti or some other sharp object.

  • STEP 1.Chop the 2 onions and slit the green chilies and now in a kadai and heat oil. Add the chopped onions and fry them till they caramelize and become brown.

  • STEP 1.Take the fried onions and add them in milk and mix them well, now add the garlic paste, cumin paste, and slit green chilies. Mix them thoroughly.

  • STEP 1.Add the washed hilsa and coat them well with the milk masala. Keep it aside for 10-15mins.

  • STEP 1.Take 1 kg of bhog rice and wash it thoroughly and soak the rice for an hour.

  • STEP 1.To make the curry take a kadai, pour mustard oil and fry the coated fish. fry the fish steaks from both the sides till it turns golden.

  • STEP 2.Now take it out in a bowl and with the leftover marinated milk pour it in the same kadai.

  • STEP 3.Add 1tbsp green chili paste and 2 slit green chilies to the same oil, saute them thoroughly.

  • STEP 4.Once you get the nice aroma of the green chili paste and the green chilies, add 1 cup of water.

  • STEP 1.Bring the water to a boil. Add salt and turmeric powder, after a few minutes of boiling, add the fish pieces. Let the fish get cooked, uncovered.

  • STEP 1.To prepare rice take a saucepan and pour the oil into it and once it gets heated add in chopped onion, ginger garlic paste, bay beaf and green cardamoms to it.

  • STEP 1.Then add the soaked rice. Mix them well and add 4 cups of water, put the lead on, and let it cook.

  • STEP 1.Once the rice is cooked now it’s time to add the hilsa fish curry in the saucepan and let it cook on the low flame from around 5 minutes.
