Handi dum chicken Recipe

This happens to be my first attempt at preparing this easy and delicious chicken curry, cooked in a handi or clay pot. The chicken is marinated in an array of spices overnight. It is then covered with a foil and simmered away to perfection in a dum style. Relish this delicacy with jeera rice, plain biryani, naan or tandoori roti.

  • 1/4 stick Cinnamon
  • 1/2-3/4 green ardamoms
  • 1.25-1.50 Cloves
  • pinch nutmeg powder
  • As required Salt
  • 0.06 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon coriander cumin powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 0.13 cup fried onions
  • 1/4-1/2 green chilies, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
  • 0.13 cup yoghurt, beaten
  • 0.13 cup Milk
  • 0.13 cup coriander and mint leaves, chopped
  • 1/4 tablespoon Lime Juice
  • 1/2-3/4 tablespoon Oil
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
