Haleem (Khichra) is a thick yummy and filling dish that is made up of wheat, lentils and shredded meat. It's normally slow-cooked to develop it's excellent flavour and helps create it's paste-like consistency.

  • As required GRAINS
  • 180 gram Broken wheat or dalia
  • 30 gram Masoor dal
  • 30 gram Moong dal
  • 30 gram Chhola’r dal
  • 30 gram Rice
  • As required FOR THE MEAT
  • 800 gram Beef
  • 1 kilogram Onions
  • 55 gram Ginger
  • 10 gram Garlic
  • 10 gram Green chillies
  • 6 piece Cardamom
  • 2 piece Cinnamon
  • 6 piece Cloves
  • 10 piece Peppercorns
  • 2 piece Bay leaves
  • 3 gram Shahi garam masala powder
  • 33 gram Salt
  • As required LIQUIDS
  • 1.50 kilogram Water
  • 650 gram Milk
  • As required FAT
  • 250 gram Vegetable Oil
  • 50 gram Ghee
  • As required GARNISH
  • 1 bunch Mint leaves
  • 12 S lime
  • 6 piece Green chillies

Directions: Haleem Khichro Recipe

  • STEP 1.Mix the grains

  • STEP 2.Soak the grains for 3hrs

step 3

  • STEP 3.Crush the ginger,garlic salt and green chilies into a paste

  • STEP 4.Heat a pan with oil and fry the meat brown

step 5

  • STEP 5.Set aside

step 6

  • STEP 6.Temper oil with bay leaves,cardamom,cinnamon,cloves,peppercorns

  • STEP 7.Add the sliced onions and salt

  • STEP 8.Fry well until brown

  • STEP 9.Add the paste prepared

  • STEP 10.Add 35g barista

step 11

  • STEP 11.Add the meat and mix well

step 12

  • STEP 12.Transfer it in a pressure cooker

step 13

  • STEP 13.Cook for 1hour

step 14

  • STEP 14.Separate the meat from the bones

step 15

  • STEP 15.Store the meat in the fridge

step 16

  • STEP 16.Cut the meat into chunks

step 17

  • STEP 17.Bring the broth to boil

step 18

  • STEP 18.Add the grains to the broth and add the meat

step 19

  • STEP 19.Cook for 1hour

step 20

  • STEP 20.Blend everything

step 21

  • STEP 21.Return in the pan

step 22

  • STEP 22.Add more meat chunks and milk

step 23

  • STEP 23.Garnish with green chilies,chopped mint leaves, lime juice and ghee fried potatoes

  • STEP 24.Serve with bread rolls
