A very simple dessert dish made with very common kitchen ingredients like rice, milk and jaggery.

Ingredients for Halbai Recipe

  • 1 cup Ragi
  • 1.50 cup Jaggery
  • 5 tablespoon Fresh coconut
  • 1 tablespoon Ghee
  • 1 cup Hot water
  • 1 tablespoon Cardamom

Directions: Halbai Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.1. Take washed ragi, and strain. Add cardamom seeds,coconut and grind them in a blender

step 2

  • STEP 2.2. Transfer in a bowl, strain this too.

step 3

  • STEP 3.3. Take some hot water and add jaggery in it. Mix well. Make sure you get desired consistency.

step 4

  • STEP 4.4. The strained coconut mixture and jaggery must be mixed. Now cook on medium flame for 10-15 minutes. Keep stirring.

step 5

  • STEP 5.5. Take a plate and grease it. Now pour the cooked ragi in the plate and let it settle for 20 minutes. Refrigerate for 5 hours. The halbai is ready.
