They are eaten as an appetizer or snack. They are made as cut strips, or by using a cookie press, from dough made with butter, flour, salt, cheddar cheese and cayenne pepper. Crisp and flaky cheese straws specked with fresh herbs make a delicious and fun hors d'oeuvre.   • 250 gram yellow sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1.50 cup All purpose flour
  • 1/2 No.s red chili pepper
  • 1 No.s grated garlic clove
  • 1 cup unsalted butter

  • STEP 1.In a bowl mix cheese, butter, garlic and red pepper with a hand mixer until it turns white and creamy. Gradually add flour and mix well.

step 2

  • STEP 1.Fill the mixture in a zip lock bag or piping bag and use a piping nozzle of your choice. Pipe the mixture in your non stick baking tray into long sticks.

step 3

  • STEP 1.Place the tray in a preheated oven at 180 degree C for 10-12 minutes.
