Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a mixing bowl, combine wheat flour, turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt, and oil. Knead into a firm dough.
  • STEP 2.Divide the dough into small portions and shape them into small dumplings.
  • STEP 3.Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and asafoetida. Let them splutter.
  • STEP 4.Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  • STEP 5.Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute.
  • STEP 6.Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft.
  • STEP 7.Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well.
  • STEP 8.Add tamarind pulp and jaggery. Cook for a few minutes.
  • STEP 9.Add cluster beans and mix well. Cook for 5 minutes.
  • STEP 10.Add water and bring the curry to a boil.
  • STEP 11.Add the wheat flour dumplings and cook for 10-15 minutes until they are cooked through.
  • STEP 12.Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with roti or rice.
