  • STEP 1.To make Guliyappa, start by soaking rice and lentils overnight.
  • STEP 2.Grind the soaked rice and lentils into a smooth batter.
  • STEP 3.Ferment the batter for a few hours or overnight.
  • STEP 4.Heat a Guliyappa pan and add a little oil in each cavity.
  • STEP 5.Pour the batter into the cavities and cook on medium heat.
  • STEP 6.Flip the Guliyappa using a skewer or spoon to cook evenly on both sides.
  • STEP 7.Once cooked, remove from the pan and serve hot with chutney or sambar.

  • Make sure the batter is well fermented for soft and fluffy Guliyappa.
