Ingredients for Gujarati Handvo Recipe

  • As Required For the handvo mix
  • 1/5 cup Rice
  • 1/20 cup Chana dal
  • 1/20 cup Dal
  • 1/20 cup Urad Dal
  • 1/10 cup moong dal
  • to taste Salt to taste
  • 1/5 tsp Red chili powder
  • 1/5 tsp Garam masala
  • 0.40 Pinches Asafoetida
  • 1/5 tsp Baking soda
  • As Required Oil _ as needed
  • 1/5 tsp Black salt
  • 1/5 tsp Cumin
  • 0.40 tsp Fennel
  • As Required Adrak -chota byte
  • 0.80 Pieces Hari mirch
  • A Pinch Haldi powder
  • As Required For Ganishing arnishing
  • 1/10 cup White sesame
  • 1/10 cup Rai
  • as required Oil
  • As Required Jeeraman _ as per taste
  • 1/10 Cups imli chuteny
  • 1/10 Cups greenchutney
  • 1/10 Cups dahi / curd
  • 1/5 Cups Laung sev
  • 1/10 Cups Chopped onions
  • 1/5 Tsp Chat masla
  • 2 Pieces Meethi neem(curry leaf)

Directions: Gujarati Handvo Recipe

  • STEP 1.Handvo mix-----
  • STEP 2.Fill the water in a bowl and soak the lentils for 6 hours.
  • STEP 3.After 6 hours, take out the water completely from both the types of pulses and rice. In the grinder, put the rice with green chilies and ginger and prepare a thick paste by adding a little water. Keep the paste in a bowl.
  • STEP 4.In the prepared paste, mix red chili powder, black salt, salt, garam masala, asafoetida, fennel, coriander leaves, cumin, turmeric powder, all the spices, prepare the handvo mixture. Soft and floppy batter is ready by mixing baking soda in the handvo mixture. Do.
  • STEP 5.Heat oil in a kadhai for making handvo.
  • STEP 6.Now put 1 tsp mustard seeds and 2 white sesame seeds in oil.
  • STEP 7.Then put the handvo . Close the lid and fry the handvo for 10 minutes until it turns brown in color from both the sides.
  • STEP 8.When the color of the handvo becomes golden, turn off the gas and serve the handvo in a hot plate.

  • STEP 11.The most important thing about handvo recipe is that it should be cooked on low flame as much as possible so that it becomes very crispy as well as in this way it will be cooked well inside and out in every way.
  • STEP 12.Those who like spicy food can use green chili or red chili powder, which makes it very spicy too.
  • STEP 13.,In making this recipe, it is very important that you soak pulses and rice in plenty of water for overnight or at least 6 hours so that it becomes soft and gets cooked easily.
