Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak the split green gram lentils for 30 minutes.
  • STEP 2.Pressure cook the lentils with water, turmeric powder, and salt until soft.
  • STEP 3.Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, and curry leaves.
  • STEP 4.Add chopped onions, ginger, and garlic. Saute until onions turn golden brown.
  • STEP 5.Add chopped tomatoes, green chilies, and spices like red chili powder, coriander powder, and garam masala.
  • STEP 6.Cook until the tomatoes are soft and oil separates from the masala.
  • STEP 7.Add the cooked lentils to the pan and mix well. Adjust the consistency by adding water if needed.
