Ingredients for Gorditas Recipe

  • 1.75 cup Warm Water
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 cup corn masa harina
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1.50 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 cup oil for cooking

Directions: Gorditas Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.In a bowl add masa harina, baking powder and salt

step 2

  • STEP 2.Mix and add some water

step 3

  • STEP 3.Add 1 ½ tbsp olive oil

step 4

  • STEP 4.Mix gradually until a soft dough form

step 5

  • STEP 5.Cover and rest for 10mins

step 6

  • STEP 6.With wet hands roll 6 masa balls

step 7

  • STEP 7.Gently pat the balls to form gorditas

step 8

  • STEP 8.Cover and rest the gorditas

step 9

  • STEP 9.Heat a skillet with oil

step 10

  • STEP 10.Fry the gorditas each side

step 11

  • STEP 11.Set paper towel to drain the excess fat

step 12

  • STEP 12.Use a knife to cut into half and add the filling
