Thick sweet and sour jam made with delicious Gooseberries. Gooseberry jam is one of those old fashioned pleasures that your grandma raves about, but it’s hard to lay hands on it these days. Since gooseberries are making their way back into farmers markets across the country, it’s easy enough to make your own homemade gooseberry jam. Gooseberries can be either red or green, and red gooseberries will yield a deep blood red jam similar to a red currant jam.

Ingredients for Gooseberry Jam Recipe

  • 1 cup gooseberries
  • 2 cup brown Sugar
  • 2 cup Water
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon grated nutmeg
  • 1 No.s Cinnamon Stick

Directions: Gooseberry Jam Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Take water and gooseberries in a pot and bring it to boil. Once done boiling strain the berries.

step 2

  • STEP 1.Boil 2 cups of water in a pot and add sugar, nutmeg powder, cinnamon sticks and ground cloves. Give it a stir and let simmer.

step 3

  • STEP 1.Add the boiled gooseberries to the pot and cook for an hour. Once the jam is not slippery and settles well then you can store it in a jar and deep freeze.
