Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Marinate the chicken pieces with turmeric powder, red chili powder, ginger-garlic paste, and salt.
  • STEP 2.Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and curry leaves. Saute until they splutter.
  • STEP 3.Add chopped onions and cook until they turn golden brown. Then, add chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft.
  • STEP 4.Add the marinated chicken pieces and cook until they are tender and well-cooked.
  • STEP 5.Add gongura paste and cook for a few more minutes until the flavors blend well.
  • STEP 6.Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with steamed rice or roti.

Cooking Tips

  • Make sure to marinate the chicken for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to penetrate.
  • You can adjust the spice level according to your preference by adding more or less red chili powder.
  • If gongura leaves are not available, you can use gongura paste or sorrel leaves paste as a substitute.
