  • 1/20 cup Jaggery, Grated
  • 1/5 cup Rice Flour
  • pinch A Pinch Of Salt
  • as required Water
  • 1/5 tablespoon Ghee

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a pan, heat ghee and add grated coconut and jaggery. Cook until the mixture thickens.
  • STEP 2.In a separate bowl, mix rice flour, salt, and water to form a smooth dough.
  • STEP 3.Take a small portion of the dough and flatten it. Place a spoonful of the coconut-jaggery mixture in the center.
  • STEP 4.Fold the edges of the dough to form a rose shape, sealing the filling inside.
  • STEP 5.Steam the dumplings in a steamer for about 15-20 minutes or until cooked.
  • STEP 6.In a separate pan, prepare a sugar syrup by dissolving sugar in water and boiling until thickened.
  • STEP 7.Dip the steamed dumplings in the sugar syrup and let them soak for a few minutes.
  • STEP 8.Serve the Golap Pitha warm or at room temperature.

Cooking Tips

  • Ensure the coconut and jaggery mixture is thick enough to prevent it from leaking out of the dumplings.
  • Steam the dumplings on medium heat to ensure even cooking.
  • You can add a pinch of cardamom powder to the coconut-jaggery mixture for additional flavor.
