  • 1/4 cup Broken Wheat
  • 0.06 cup Split Yellow Moong Dal
  • 1/2 tablespoon Oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • as required A Few Curry Leaves
  • 1/4 Onion, Chopped
  • 1/2 Green Chilies, Chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1/4 cup Mixed Vegetables, Chopped
  • 0.13 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • As required Salt To Taste
  • 3/4 cup Water
  • as needed Coriander Leaves For Garnish

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak the broken wheat and lentils for 30 minutes.
  • STEP 2.In a pressure cooker, heat oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and curry leaves.
  • STEP 3.Add chopped onions, green chilies, and ginger-garlic paste. Saute until onions turn golden brown.
  • STEP 4.Add chopped vegetables, soaked broken wheat, lentils, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix well.
  • STEP 5.Add water and pressure cook for 3-4 whistles.
  • STEP 6.Once the pressure is released, open the cooker and garnish with coriander leaves.
  • STEP 7.Serve hot with pickle or yogurt.

Cooking Tips

  • You can add any vegetables of your choice like carrots, peas, beans, etc.
  • Adjust the spice level according to your preference by adding more or less green chilies.
  • Make sure to soak the broken wheat and lentils to reduce the cooking time.

Storage and Serving

  • Godhumu gottam can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
