A delicious dish prepared from gizzards,plantain made in pepper and tomato sauce.Gizdodo is a simple dish that delivers great flavor with minimal effort.Boiled pieces of gizzard are deeply fried and mixed fried plantains poured over a simmering pepper and Tomato Sauce. Tossed with Onions, Green bell peppers, and yellow bell peppers and Orange bell peppers.

Ingredients for Gizdodo Recipe

  • 1 pound Gizzards
  • 1 Nos big ripe Plantain
  • 1 cup Starter Sauce
  • 1 Nos Large diced Onion
  • As required Vegetable Oil
  • 2 Nos Bouillon Cubes
  • As required Stock or Broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon Curry Powder
  • As required Salt

  • STEP 1.Peel off plantains and chop it into pieces

step 2

  • STEP 2.Transfer the plantains in a bowl and season it with salt and mix.

  • STEP 1.In a cooking pot add gizdodo,onions,bouillon cube,curry powder and salt as per taste.

  • STEP 1.Add water to cover the ingredients well.

  • STEP 1.Cover and cook it for 20-25 mins with the lid on.

  • STEP 1.Add oil in a pan & heat it.

  • STEP 1.Put in the plantains in the pan and fry it until golden brown.

  • STEP 1.Transfer it into a bowl

  • STEP 1.Take out the gizdodo from cooking pot and fry it until golden brown.

  • STEP 1.In another pan add oil & heat it.

  • STEP 1.Add in chopped onions and saute it.

  • STEP 1.Now add starter sauce and the gizdodo stock

  • STEP 1.Then add bouillon cubes and salt as per taste.

  • STEP 1.Stir it until thickens

  • STEP 1.Now add the plantains and gizdodo and mix it well.

  • STEP 1.Combine well and serve
