A Gujarati roti with healthy bajra and whole wheat flour. Gehu Bajra Thepla Recipe is a super healthy Gujarati thepla that is made with whole wheat and bajra flour. Flavoured and spiced with chillies these theplas can be served at breakfast, or dinner or even be packed in a lunch box. The addition of ginger, green chillies, black pepper gives the thepla and additional punch, giving the millet thepla a good taste. Ingredients for Gehu Bajra Thepla Recipe

  • 1 cup Bajra flour
  • 1/2 cup Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper powder
  • 1 inch Ginger finely chopped
  • 1 Green chilli finely chopped Nos
  • As required Salt
  • 4 sprig Coriander leaves finely chopped
  • As required Oil for kneading and pan frying

Directions: Gehu Bajra Thepla Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.In a large mixing bowl add 1cup bajra flour, ½ cup whole wheat flour, ½ tsp turmeric powder, ½ tsp black pepper powder, salt to taste, 1 inch ginger finely chopped, 1 green chilli finely chopped and 4 sprigs coriander leaves finely chopped.

  • STEP 1.Drizzle a little oil and add water to knead and make a smooth dough. Drizzle a little oil to smoothen the dough.

  • STEP 1.Divide the dough into balls. Dust a flat surface and roll out the balls into thin theplas.

step 4

  • STEP 1.Preheat a pan and place the thepla on it. Drizzle a little oil and cook on both sides till golden spots appear. Take off the heat.

step 5

  • STEP 1.Stack the theplas one on top of the other to retain the moisture and stay soft.
