Ingredients for Gazelle With Sesame Seeds Recipe

  • 1 pound blanched slivered almonds
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2 tablespoon orange blossom water
  • 2 tablespoon Butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • 0.12 teaspoon ground mastic gum
  • 2 egg whites
  • As required sesame seeds

  • STEP 1.Start by mixing the blanched almonds and sugar using a blender.

  • STEP 2.Once the almond mixture has a coarse powdery texture, now add the orange blossom water, butter, cinnamon, and mastic gum, and mix well until you get a smooth almond paste out of it.

  • STEP 3.Shape the almond paste into rolls that are 3 inches long and 1/2 inch wide, dip each almond paste roll in egg whites, and coat it with sesame seeds.

  • STEP 4.Place the rolls on a baking pan on parchment paper and shape them into a crescent.

  • STEP 5.Preheat your oven to 360 f degrees. Bake the cookies for 10-15 minutes.

  • STEP 6.Note when the cookies are still hot they are soft, but as they cool down, they will become chewy. Do not overbake the cookies. Let the cookies cool down and serving with mint tea!
