Gawar beans cooked in onion tomato ginger garlic masala flavoured with subtle spices. This is a Very simple recipe. Only time taking part will be chopping the cluster beans. once the chopping is done, the rest of the method is easy. The gavar bhaji can also be packed in tiffin box with some chapatis. Gawar ki sabzi recipe - simple homely recipe of gawar sabzi or a dry cluster beans curry. The sabzi is not too much spiced and thus the flavors of cluster beans come through very well in this recipe.

Ingredients for Gawar Phali Masala Recipe

  • 1 teaspoon Mustard oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ajwain seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon Asafoetida
  • 1 No.s Onion, finely chopped
  • 4 No.s Tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 6 No.s Garlic Cloves Finely Chopped
  • 1 inch Ginger, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 250 gram Gawar beans
  • 1 tablespoon Jaggery
  • 1/2 cup Raw peanuts
  • As required Coriander leaves to garnish A few

Directions: Gawar Phali Masala Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Heat a cooker and add 1 tsp mustard oil, ½ tsp ajwain seeds and allow to crackle. Then add ¼ asafoetida and stir.

  • STEP 1.Next add 1 onion finely chopped, 6 cloves of garlic finely chopped, 1 inch ginger finely chopped and stir well for 3 to 4 minutes till the onions soften and turn golden brown in colour.

  • STEP 1.Then add 4 chopped tomatoes, ½ tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp tsp coriander powder, 1 tsp red chilli powder and salt to taste. Stir and cook till tomatoes become soft and mushy.

  • STEP 1.Next add 250 grams gawar beans cut into 1 ½ inch pieces, 1tbsp jaggery, and ½ cup raw peanuts. Mix well.

step 5

  • STEP 1.Add ½ cup water and pressure cook for 2 to 3 whistles only as the beans do not take long to cook. Turn off the heat and release the pressure by using a fork to lift the weight or by holding the cooker under running water.

step 6

  • STEP 1.Open the cooker and add chopped coriander leaves and mix. Taste for salt and spices and adjust accordingly.
