Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a mixing bowl, combine wheat flour, gram flour, red chili powder, turmeric powder, carom seeds, salt, and oil. Mix well.
  • STEP 2.Gradually add water and knead into a firm dough. Divide the dough into small portions and shape them into cylindrical dumplings.
  • STEP 3.Boil water in a pan and add the dumplings. Cook for 10-12 minutes or until the dumplings are cooked through. Drain and keep aside.
  • STEP 4.In a separate pan, heat oil and add cumin seeds, asafoetida, and ginger-garlic paste. Saute until fragrant.
  • STEP 5.Add yogurt, red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and salt. Cook until the oil separates from the mixture.
  • STEP 6.Add water to adjust the consistency of the gravy. Bring it to a boil.
  • STEP 7.Add the cooked dumplings to the gravy and simmer for a few minutes.
  • STEP 8.Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with roti or rice.
