  • 1 teaspoon Urad Dal

  • 7 Lic Cloves, Chopped
  • 4 Ripe Tomatoes, Chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • As required Salt To Taste

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, urad dal, and curry leaves. Saute until the dal turns golden brown.
  • STEP 2.Add chopped garlic and saute until it turns golden brown.
  • STEP 3.Add chopped tomatoes, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes become soft and mushy.
  • STEP 4.Allow the mixture to cool down and then blend it into a smooth paste.
  • STEP 5.Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, urad dal, and curry leaves. Saute until the dal turns golden brown.
  • STEP 6.Add the blended chutney paste and cook for a few minutes until it thickens.
  • STEP 7.Remove from heat and let it cool down before transferring to a jar.
  • STEP 8.Serve the Garlic Tomato Chutney with dosa, idli, or as a spread on sandwiches.
