  • 3/4 cloves Cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 1/2 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1/4 Juice Lemon

Directions: Ful Medames Recipe

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a large pot, cover the fava beans with water and soak overnight.
  • STEP 2.Drain the beans and rinse well. Return them to the pot and cover with fresh water.
  • STEP 3.Bring the water to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for about 1-2 hours, or until the beans are tender.
  • STEP 4.Drain the beans, reserving some of the cooking liquid.
  • STEP 5.In a separate bowl, mash some of the cooked beans with a fork or potato masher.
  • STEP 6.In a skillet, heat olive oil and saut茅 minced garlic until fragrant.
  • STEP 7.Add the mashed beans, lemon juice, salt, and pepper to the skillet and cook for a few minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • STEP 8.If the mixture is too thick, add some of the reserved cooking liquid to achieve the desired consistency.
  • STEP 9.Serve hot, drizzled with olive oil and topped with garnishes of your choice.
