Ingredients for Fried Bitter Gourd with Mustard or Sarson ka Karela.. Recipe

  • 125 gm Karela
  • 1/2 cup Sliced onion
  • 1.50 tbsp Mustard oil
  • 1/4 tsp Black mustard seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Yellow mustard seeds
  • 2.50 Pieces Dry red chilli
  • 1/4 tsp Haldi powder
  • to taste Salt

Directions: Fried Bitter Gourd With Mustard Or Sarson Ka Karela.. Recipe

  • STEP 1.Take a wok , add oil , heat it.
  • STEP 2.Moderate the flame , add both mustard seeds , let it splutter.
  • STEP 3.Now add dry red chilli , saute it until a lil brown.
  • STEP 4.In goes haldi powder , mix it well.
  • STEP 5.Add karela & onion now , increase the flame , stir fry it for a minute
  • STEP 6.Add salt now , mix it well. Cook it for a minute.
  • STEP 7.Lower the flame , cover it with the lid , cook it until karela is almost cooked. Stir only once in between.
  • STEP 8.Open the lid , stir fry it until dry .
  • STEP 9.Increase the flame , stir fry it for a minute .
  • STEP 10.Turn off the flame , take out in a serving bowl.
  • STEP 11.Can be served along with Roti or Paratha..
