  • 8 No.s thick slices white bread
  • 50 gram Butter
  • 1 kilogram Meat
  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese
  • 4 No.s Egg
  • As required French fries
  • As required Francesinha sauce
  • 300 gram lean beef or chicken bones
  • 1 No.s small carrot
  • 1 No.s small onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 No.s bay leaf
  • 60 milliliter whisky
  • 375 milliliter Ale
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1 tablespoon cornflour with water
  • 1 tablespoon piri piri sauce

Directions: Francesinha Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.For sauce: Heat butter in a saucepan and add beef chops or chicken and fry. Add carrot, onion,salt and cook. Then add tomato paste and stir further. Then add bay leaf, port, beer and milk and simmer. Strain the sauce and remove solids.

step 2

  • STEP 1.For sandwich toast bread and butter it. Fill the sandwich with meat and top with cheese slices. Grill the sandwich to melt cheese.

step 3

  • STEP 2.Now add egg to top the sandwich and pour hot francesinha sauce and french fries at the side. Serve fresh.
