Every country in latin america has a variation on this classic dish. To add to its charm, it is also full of many delicious and nourishing ingredients. This delicious seafood and fish recipe can lift anyones spirits, especially in the wintertime. In ecuador there is an oven made sopa de marisco made from grated pltanos verdes (plantains) and served over a sofrito. The traditional way to serve it is in individual ceramic dishes. In venezuela the fosforera, or siete potencias as it is also known, is very well know. The stock itself is made from a variety of seafood including octopus and crab. Some people believe it is an aphrodisiac, and others believe it can make a sick person get better.   • 1/4 Fish head
  • 0.13 gallon Water
  • 0.13 White onion, roughly chopped
  • 3/4 Garlic cloves, mashed
  • 0.13 Green pepper, seeded
  • 1/4 Aji dulce seeded and diced
  • 0.13 Leek, coarsely chopped
  • 1/4 Ripe tomato, skin removed and seeded, coarsely chopped, if desired
  • 0.13 cup White wine, if desired
  • 1/4 sprig Cilantro
  • 1/4 pound Prawns, shells intact and with head if possible
  • 1/4 Bag of mussels
  • 1/4 pound Squid, cleaned and cut into rings
  • 0.13 pound Scallops
  • 1/4 Whole fish, head removed and saved; cut into steaks
  • 1/2 Yucas coarsely chopped or another vegetable of your own choosing
