  • STEP 1.Ingredients and Method
  • STEP 2.1. Half paavu each hesarubele and washed rice was cooked upto 2 whistles until soft in a cooker .
  • STEP 3.2. A cup of hitkavare was cooked for 10 mins separately and added to the rice.
  • STEP 4.3. About 1 glass powdered jaggery was melted with little water and strained and added to the cooked rice.
  • STEP 5.4. About a glass of full cream milk was added and cooked on a low flame after adding 5 crushed cardamom and fresh grated coconut.
  • STEP 6.5. Finally oggarane done with 2 heaped tablespoons of ghee broken cashew nuts, almonds and raisins added mixed well to get a flavour ful sweet Pongal
  • STEP 7.Secret ingredient: 2 tablespoons of milkmaid.
