Jamaican fried dough, known as festival, is essentially slightly sweet cornmeal fritters. Prepared with all purpose flour,eggs, vanilla and sugar.

Ingredients for Festival Recipe

  • 1.50 cup all purpose Flour
  • 1/2 cup Cornmeal
  • 3 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1 No.s Egg, beaten
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 1/2 cup Cold water
  • 1 cup Cooking Oil

Directions: Festival Recipe

  • STEP 1.In a bowl add cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and mix everything well.
  • STEP 2.Add 1 beaten egg to this and gradually add cold water to prepare a dough.
  • STEP 3.Divide it into 6 equal portions.
  • STEP 4.Heat some oil in a pan and deep fry your festivals in it till they turn golden brown.
