Ingredients for Feijoada Recipe

  • 125 gram soaked black beans
  • 0.38 cup chopped onions
  • 0.13 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/4 clove chopped garlic
  • 1/2 peices smoked ham hocks
  • 55 gram diced ham
  • 0.03 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 0.06 cup chopped parsley
  • As required Salt
  • As required Pepper
  • 0.13 cup chopped cilantro
  • 112.50 gram sliced bacon
  • 1/2 No.s crushed bay leaves
  • 1/4 tablespoon olive oil

Directions: Feijoada Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.1 heat some oil in a pan and add chopped onion, green onion, garlic and stir cook for about 4 minutes.

step 2

  • STEP 2.2 pour in the soaked beans and add enough water to cover the beans.

step 3

  • STEP 3.3 bring it to boil and simmer uncovered for 2 hours on medium flame.

step 4

  • STEP 4.4 in a pan take ham hock, chopped onion and cover it with water.

step 5

  • STEP 5.5 cover the ham hock mixture with water and cook for an hour.

step 6

  • STEP 6.6 once cooked, drain the extra water and add the cooked beans in it.

step 7

  • STEP 7.7 preheat the oven at 375 f.

step 8

  • STEP 8.8 place bacon, ham and onions on a baking tray and bake for 15 minutes in order to make them crispy.

step 9

  • STEP 9.9 drain the excess water from bacon and ham mixture.

step 10

  • STEP 10.10 season it with bay leaves, coriander salt and pepper.

step 11

  • STEP 11.11 add besan to it and simmer for 30 minutes.
