A Portuguese flour sausage easy recipe. Farinheira is a Portuguese smoked sausage made mainly from wheat flour, pork fat and seasonings (white wine, paprika, salt and pepper). It has a yellow/brown colour and is served in traditional dishes like feijoada or cozido à portuguesa. Portuguese traditional sausages, like other sausages, consist mainly of pork meat and fat are the main ingredients.

Ingredients for Farinheira Recipe

  • 450 gram pork belly
  • 550 gram Wheat flour
  • 12 gram Salt
  • 1 gram Pepper
  • 2 gram Sweet Paprika
  • 1 No.s Bay leaf
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg powder
  • 2 No.s Garlic
  • 60 milliliter White wine
  • 1 cup Water

Directions: Farinheira Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.1. Mix the flour with pepper, sweet paprika, water, bay leaf, nutmeg powder, garlic, white wine and wine.

step 2

  • STEP 1.Grind the fat in a plate. Stuff the casings in a shape of a horseshoe. Cook in boiling water for 30 minutes and then store.
