Delicious snack stuffed with egg and spicy masala. It is a popular puff pastry snack. It is good for health. This recipe can be easily made in your home kitchen. The interestingly-shaped egg puffs are flaky and crispy. They are stuffed with a delicious, spicy masala and wrapped with slices of boiled eggs in it. The crispy outer layer is balanced by the fiery and hot, melt-in-your-mouth filling.

  • 1/5 cup Maida
  • NaN To Taste Salt
  • As required Water
  • 0.40 tablespoon Sunflower oil
  • 1/5 tablespoon Oil
  • 1/5 No.s Onions
  • 1/10 teaspoon Ginger garlic paste
  • 1/10 teaspoon Green chilli paste
  • A Few Curry leaves
  • 1/20 teaspoon Chilli Powder
  • 1/20 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 0.03 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 0.03 teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • 1/5 tablespoon Water
  • 0.30 tablespoon Coriander leaves
  • 1/2 No.s Boiled eggs
  • 1/10 No.s Egg

Preparation Directions

  • STEP 1.Boil eggs, remove the egg shells and cut it into two halves.

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Take 2cup maida in a bowl and add salt to taste. Mix it well. Gradually add some water and knead it with your hands. Use the countertop to mix the dough. Roll the dough on the countertop and then cut it into small pieces with a pizza cutter. Make smooth balls
  • STEP 2.Take a bowl and add 3-4 tbsp sunflower oil. Flatten the smooth ball with your fingers. Dip it in the oil and then turn and put it in the oil again. Do the same for each piece.
  • STEP 3.Cover it and let it sit for 20 mins.
  • STEP 4.Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan. Add the chopped onion and saute it.Add 1 tsp ginger garlic paste,1 tsp green chilli paste and curry leaves. Saute it until the onion becomes golden in colour. Add ½ tsp red chilli powder, ½ tsp coriander powder, ¼ tsp turmeric powder and ¼ tsp garam masala powder. Mix it well. Add 2 tbsp water and mix well. Cover it and let it cook for 2 mins in low flame.
  • STEP 5.Remove the lid and add 3 tbsp chopped coriander leaves and mix it well. Turn off the flame. Keep it aside.
  • STEP 6.Take the dough and try to spread the small piece of dough on the countertop to a thin circular layer.
  • STEP 7.Then fold it into two halves twice and spread it again. Repeat this step twice or thrice.
  • STEP 8.Now spread the dough in a square shape with approx 3-3.5 inch length.
  • STEP 9.Repeat step 6-8 for the rest of the dough.
  • STEP 10.Take the square shaped layer of dough and place 1-2 tbsp masala on each piece of dough. Make sure to place the masala in the center of the square.
  • STEP 11.Place the egg halves on each piece, over the masala. Join in the diagonal corners of each piece to make puffs.
  • STEP 12.Whisk an egg in a bowl and bush it on the puffs. Preheat the oven at 200 degrees for 10 mins.
  • STEP 13.Bake the puffs for 30 min in an oven at 200 degrees. Egg puffs are ready to be served.

Serving Method

  • STEP 1.These egg puffs should be served hot, along with tomato ketchup on the side for evening snacks or morning breakfast.
