  • 20.83 gram Dates
  • 0.08 tablespoon Chopped Ginger
  • 0.08 tablespoon Chopped Garlic
  • 0.08 tablespoon Chopped Green chillies
  • 1/50 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 0.08 tablespoon Chilli Powder
  • 0.17 tablespoon Vinegar
  • 1/25 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 0.17 tablespoon Sugar
  • As required Salt
  • As required Oil
  • 0.17 Curry leaves stem

Steps To Prepare

  • STEP 1.Clean the dates properly and remove the seeds.
  • STEP 2.Slice the dates vertically to divide them into 2-3 pieces each and keep them aside.

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a pan heat about 2 tsp oil. Add ½ tsp mustard seeds and let them splutter.
  • STEP 2.Add 2 stem curry leaves along with 1 tsp each of chopped ginger, chopped garlic and chopped green chili. Saute the ingredients well.
  • STEP 3.Now, add 1 tbsp chilli powder and 1/4 tsp turmeric powder. Mix the ingredients well with the ladle.
  • STEP 4.Transfer the sliced dates to the pan along with ½ cup of water and mix well. Next, add 2 tsp of sugar. Mash the dates with the ladle and continue cooking on a medium flame.
  • STEP 5.Finally, add a pinch of salt and 2 tbsp of vinegar. Turn off the flame when the mix comes to a boil. Your dates pickle is ready.

Storage And Serving Method

  • STEP 1.Serve this pickle as a side with piping hot parathas or Malabar biryani.
