Continental cream of chicken soup packet

Chicken thigh fillet

Short-cut bacon rashers

Mix all the dry ingredients together. Cut chicken and bacon into bite sized pieces. Peel or scrub carrots and cut into pieces.

Saute chicken and bacon in a skillet or pan until golden, add carrots, dry ingredients (except the flour, salt and baking powder) and liquid. Stir, bring to the boil and simmer covered for 30 minutes or until the carrots are cooked.

Meanwhile mix the flour, baking powder and salt together and rub in the butter. When it resembles breadcrumbs add enough water to make a soft dough.

When the chicken is cooked drop spoonfuls of the dumpling dough into the stew and replace lid. Cook for 10 minutes until the dumplings are light and fluffy. Serve.
