Dum Aloo, No onion no garlic Recipe

Dum aloo is popularly eaten in north India and it consists of Potatoes but I have added by touch by adding grated paneer to it and without onion and garlic.

Ingredients for Dum Aloo, No onion no garlic Recipe

  • 30 g medium size potatoes
  • 10 g grated Paneer -finely grated
  • 1/2 Sprigs Coriander
  • A Pinch Pinch of red chilli and salt
  • As Required Sunflower or ground nut oil
  • 25 g small tomatoes
  • As Required For Ganishing Cashesnut
  • As Required Small piece of ginger
  • 1/2 g Green chili as per taste
  • As Required Pinch of turmeric
  • 1/4 Tsp n chilli powder
  • 1/2 Tsp n coriander powder
  • To Taste Salt
  • As Required Jeera
  • A Pinch of heeng
  • 1/4 Tsp n garam masala
  • 0.13 Tsp n kasoori methi
  • 0.13 Tsp n kashmiri lal mirch
  • As Required Cream

How to Make Dum Aloo, No Onion No Garlic Recipe

  • For gravy-
  • Take 2 small chopped tomatoes, small piece of ginger, 1 green chilli, 4 to 5 cashews, pinch of turmeric, 1/2 tspn chilli powder, 1 tspn coriander powder, salt to taste and grind them to make a smooth paste.
  • Now add 1 tbspn of ground nut oil in a pan and add 1/2 tspn cumin powder, a pinch of hing.
  • Then after the cumins are crackled add the paste and cook it for about 10 minutes till it releases oil on the sides and then add 1/2 tspn garam masala, 1/4 tspn kasoori methi, 1/4 tspn kashmiri lal mirch and some cream to the gravy.
  • For potatoes-
  • Peel 4 potatoes and make a whole in the centre and fry them till they are golden brown.
  • Let them cool down.
  • Then grate some paneer and add pinch of salt and lal mirch to it and fill this mixture in the potatoes.
  • Now you can add the potatoes to the gravy.
  • Your Dum aloo is ready to serve!
  • Serve it with chapati or rice as per your taste!
