Ingredients for Dum Aloo Recipe

  • 700 gram Baby Potatoes
  • 3/4 cup Curd/yogurt
  • 3 tablespoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 inch Mace
  • 1 Black cardamom
  • 1 Green cardamom
  • 2 Cloves
  • 1 inch Cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Fennel seeds powder
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • As required Asafoetida
  • 3 tablespoon Cashew paste
  • 1/2 cup Mustard oil
  • As required Salt

Directions: Dum Aloo Recipe

  • STEP 1.Heat a pan and roast all special whole spices i.e listed for dum aloo.
  • STEP 2.Keep it aside and let it cool, once it gets cool grind it into a bender and build powder.
  • STEP 3.Now coat the poached potatoes with some red flavour, salt and turmeric powder.
  • STEP 4.Heat a deep pan and add oil for sauteing the potatoes, fry them until they become nice golden in color.
  • STEP 5.Heat another pan add 4-5 tbsp oil, once its heats up add cumin seeds, herb and asafetida.
  • STEP 6.Saute it for a few seconds until the flavour releases.
  • STEP 7.Add onion and cashew paste, fry it until it flippink in color.
  • STEP 8.Add ginger garlic paste , saute it until raw smell vanishes,
  • STEP 9.Add red flavour, cumin powder and salt and a bit of water, fry it for 3-4 min.
  • STEP 10.Add ingredients and fry it until the water gets dry.
  • STEP 11.Add yogurt , simmer the flame and blend well, add cream, combine well, add kasuri methi and cooked potatoes.
  • STEP 12.Mix with mild hands, add special roast and pulverized masala, providing it a combination.
  • STEP 13.Add one cup of water, you will keep the consistency as per your choice.
  • STEP 14.Bring a boil, cowl it with a lid, simmer the flame and cook for 7-8 min.
  • STEP 15.Garnish it with inexperienced coriander leaves.
