  • 1/2 Bottle Gourd, Peeled And Grated
  • 1/2 cup Fenugreek Leaves, Chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
  • pinch A Pinch Of Asafoetida
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Coriander Powder
  • As required Salt To Taste
  • as needed Fresh Coriander Leaves For Garnish

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Peel and grate the bottle gourd. Squeeze out the excess water.
  • STEP 2.Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, and asafoetida.
  • STEP 3.Add grated bottle gourd and fenugreek leaves. Cook for a few minutes.
  • STEP 4.Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well.
  • STEP 5.Cover the pan and cook on low heat until the bottle gourd is tender.
  • STEP 6.Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with roti or rice.

Cooking Tips

  • You can add a pinch of sugar to balance the flavors.
  • If fenugreek leaves are not available, you can substitute them with spinach.
