Paushtik laadu are a rich, delicious and wholesome sweet treat enjoyed during the winters in Maharashtra and North India. Gond/Dink is a kind of plant derived edible gum that has been enjoyed in traditional Indian foods as it is believed to have medicinal values. Dryfruits, seeds, coconut, jaggery, desi ghee are the other key ingredients used to make these energy balls. Regular consumption of this laddu for several weeks is said to rejuvenate the entire body by strengthening the bones, improving immunity and digestion. Paushtik laadu provide heat to the body due to the addition of Coconut, gond and nuts. So these can prevent seasonal cold not only in kids but also in grown ups.

Ingredients for Dryfruit laddu/ Paushtik laadu Recipe

  • 1/20 Cups Cashews
  • 1/20 Cup Almond
  • 1/20 Cup Pistachio
  • 1/20 Cups Walnut
  • 1/20 Cup Dry dates
  • 1/10 Cup coconut
  • 1/20 Cups Magaj seeds
  • 1/5 Tbsps methi seeds
  • 1/10 Cup ghee
  • 1/5 Cup water
  • 1/5 Cup jaggery
  • 1/10 Tbsp cardamom powder
  • 1/10 Tsp Dry Ginger powder(sauth)
  • 1/10 Cups edible gum ( gond )

Directions: Dryfruit Laddu/ Paushtik Laadu Recipe

  • STEP 1.Firstly, In a pan add dry roast all the dryfruits and seeds (½cup each) one by one. (Cashews, Almond, Pistachio, Walnut, Dry dates, coconut, Magaj seeds, methi seeds(tsp if preferred) of your choice. Set it aside. (I used readymade dessicated coconut and kharik/dry date powder)
  • STEP 2.Next fry 1 cup dink/gond/gum in 2 tbsp ghee. Set aside.
  • STEP 3.Coarsely ground all the dryfruits and seeds roasted previously. Crush the dink with hands. Mix everything and set aside.
  • STEP 4.Now in the same pan add 1/2 cup ghee and roast the coarse powder evenly stirring constantly..
  • STEP 5.In other pan boil 2 cup water, Add 2 cup jaggery powder, 1 tbsp cardamom powder, 1tsp sunth/dry ginger Powder. Cook until little concentrated.
  • STEP 6.Now add the powdered mixture to this liquid while constantly stirring.
  • STEP 7.Mix properly and bind laddus of this warm mixture. Don't let it cool. It won't bind if it gets cool.
  • STEP 8.Fill in the jar and can be stored for a month.
