Ingredients for Dhuska Recipe

  • 1 cup Rice
  • 1/2 cup Chana Dal
  • 1/4 cup Urad Dal
  • 4 Green Chilli
  • 3/4 inch Ginger Julienne
  • 2 tablespoon Green Coriander Leaves
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1/2 pinch Asafoetida
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Eno Salt
  • As required Oil For Frying

Directions: Dhuska Recipe

  • STEP 1.Take a ½ cup of chana dal, a ¼ cup of urad dal and a cup of rice. Soak them in the water for 4-5 hours or for overnight. After soaking them, remove the extra water from them. Add them in the grinder jar along with some water, 4 medium sized green chillies, 3/4 inch ginger julienne and grind them for the paste.
  • STEP 2.The paste of dal is ready after griding them. Pour the paste in a bowl, add 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds, 1/2 pinch of asafoetida, 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder, less than 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 2 tablespoons of green coriander and mix all the ingredients well.
  • STEP 3.If the batter is thick then, add some water to it. The running consistency of the batter is required for dhuska. Preheat oil to fry dhuska and beat the batter for 2 minutes. add the batter using a spatula in the rightly heated oil.
  • STEP 4.Flip and fry them till they appear golden brown from both the sides. Drain them out once they are fried and fry rest of the dhuska likewise.
  • STEP 5.Add a teaspoon of eno salt to the batter before cooking it on the tawa. Preheat the tawa and spread some oil to grease it. Spread the batter on the tawa while keeping the flame on medium.
  • STEP 6.Spread some oil over it. Cover and cook for 2 minutes on the medium flame. They have cooked from the bottom and bloated too. Spread some oil over it before flipping. Flip it and cover to cook it more for 2 minutes.
  • STEP 7.Dhuska appears golden brown from both sides, they have cooked. Remove to keep it aside and cook the rest of dhuskas likewise. You can serve it with the potato tomato curry, green coriander dip. You can serve it with the potato tomato curry, green coriander dip.
