How to Make Dhaba Style Green Moong Dal Makhani Recipe

In a pressure cooker heat 1 tsp oil, add 4 chopped cloves garlic, 2 inches ginger chopped and 1 onion finely chopped. Saute till onions are tender and soft.

Add 1 tomato finely chopped and mix well. Add 1 inch cinnamon sick, 1 bay leaf, ½ tsp turmeric, 1 tsp coriander powder, 1 tsp garam masala, 1 tsp red chilli powder, salt to taste and mix well to combine all the ingredients. Saute till tomatoes are soft.

To this add 1 ½ cup washed and soaked green moong dal and 3 cups of water. Pressure cook for 5 minutes and allow the pressure to release naturally.

Open the cooker and stir the dal. It will be soft. To make dal makhani add 2 tbsp cream, stir and simmer for a few minutes.

Lastly sprinkle 1 tbsp crushed kasuri methi and transfer the dal to a serving bowl.
